Imagine being asked for a pair of shoes by someone who is experiencing homelessness. I’ve personally experienced this in my volunteer work at Next Steps.

I look down at the pair being worn by my friend. They are filled with pieces of cardboard as they are so worn out. I am elated that they asked and happily go to the NorthWind storeroom to get a new pair. I search through the supplies only to realize that the stock of shoes is depleted. I go back to my friend to apologize.  My friend is understanding. They thank me for trying to help and for doing what I can. I am left to ponder. What more could I do?  How would Jesus respond?

It was these questions that birthed a desire in me to launch a shoe drive at Transformation Church. Would you consider joining me in this vital ministry?
